About

A small lab, steady hands.

Data2Dialog is an independent applied AI lab. We do research we care about, and we take a seat at the table with founders and product teams who are putting intelligent software in front of real users. We stay until it works.

We started Data2Dialog because a lot of the interesting AI work in the next decade isn't going to happen in frontier labs. It's going to happen in product teams who are trying to make AI survive contact with real users, real constraints, and real budgets. That work has fewer opinions written about it than it deserves.

Our job is to be useful inside that work — as partners, as builders, as a second set of hands with strong priors about what makes AI software actually good. We're small on purpose. Every engagement gets senior attention; nothing is delegated three layers down.

We don't publish a roadmap. We follow the questions that feel most alive and put down what we learn as we go. Some of it ends up as a product. Some of it ends up as a note.

What we believe.

Four ideas we keep coming back to. They aren't rules — more like instincts we try to honor when the work gets hard.

I

Capability is the easy part.

Getting a model to do the thing is usually the first hour. The remaining ninety-nine hours are about making the thing reliable, safe, legible, and survivable. Budget accordingly.

II

Honest uncertainty beats confident theater.

Models that know what they don't know are more useful than models that don't. We spend more time than most on surfacing uncertainty in a form people can actually act on.

III

Evals are the product.

A feature you can't measure is a feature you can't improve. Every engagement gets an eval harness in week one. The harness outlives the engagement.

IV

Leave the codebase stronger than you found it.

We write code your engineers will want to maintain. No bespoke frameworks, no clever trickery, no dependencies your team can't defend. Boring where boring works.
